- Project Title: Evaluating the Efficacy of Immersive Virtual Reality Nature Experiences for Acute Stress Reduction in Academically Pressured Adolescents
- BASIS Independent Advisor: Ray Wright
Chronic academic stress negatively impacts high school students' mental health, learning, and performance, creating an urgent need for accessible interventions. This study investigates whether Virtual Reality (VR) nature simulations provide greater acute stress reduction than traditional two-dimensional (2D) nature videos. Findings are expected to demonstrate that the immersive quality of VR yields significantly greater stress reduction, providing support for VR as a scalable wellness tool in school settings. This research contributes to understanding the mechanisms of technology-based mental health interventions for adolescent populations.
