As an Early Learning Teacher at BASIS Independent Bothell, Mrs. Lark is passionate about building an inclusive and joyful classroom culture where students grow both academically and emotionally. “My goal as a BASIS Independent educator is to make learning engaging, fun, and to challenge each student to grow into their greatest potential both in academics as well as their social emotional learning,” she says. “My classroom is a place where everyone is included, we work as a team, and it is a place where joy and learning coincide.”

Mrs. Lark was drawn to BASIS Independent Schools because of the emphasis on teaching the whole child. “They value teaching the whole student and understand the importance of not only helping children grow as learners, but as citizens in our community.” Her favorite classroom activity is a unit on the butterfly life cycle. After reading a book together, students act out each stage in small groups and then observe the real process by raising and releasing butterflies of their own.

Outside of school, Mrs. Lark enjoys reading, kayaking, traveling, and spending time at the beach. She’s also a devoted Disney fan with a bucket list goal of visiting every Disney park around the world.
