Mx. Sievers
Grade 1
Primary Program
Mx. Sievers joins BASIS Independent Bothell after previously working at our Bellevue campus. They hold a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Washington State University with a primary endorsement in Kindergarten through Grade 8 Elementary Education and a secondary endorsement in Middle Level Sciences.
As a Grade 1 Learning Expert Teacher at BASIS Independent Bothell, Mx. Sievers is committed to inspiring students to learn and grow through curiosity, discovery, and new experiences. “I love learning and believe that humans never stop learning,” they say. “I want to instill my love of learning in the students that I teach!”
Mx. Sievers was drawn to BASIS Independent Schools for the unique learning opportunities it offers both students and educators. “I enjoy being able to create an environment that inspires students to reach new heights constantly while also encouraging their peers to also reach for the stars.”
One of their favorite lessons involved a collaborative unit with Grade 2 and Grade 5 students on the states of matter. The students explored scientific concepts through tag games that modeled atoms in different states, sorting activities, and a scavenger hunt—all designed to build cross-grade connections while reinforcing classroom learning.
Outside of the classroom, Mx. Sievers enjoys knitting, reading, training their service dog Maddie, and studying all things related to aquariums. A fun fact: they studied ballet for 15 years!
