Ms. Wang earned her undergraduate degree from the University of the West of Scotland and her postgraduate degree from Robert Gordon University. Ms. Wang originally chose BASIS Independent Bothell for its strong commitment to academic excellence and student-centered learning. As a Mandarin Subject Expert Teacher, Ms. Wang’s aims to create an engaging and joyful learning environment where students explore language in meaningful and personal ways. “I strive to foster curiosity, confidence, and a growth mindset,” she says. “Language learning should be interactive and enjoyable.”

One of her favorite class activities is a hands-on family tree project. Students learn family-related vocabulary in Mandarin by labeling and describing their own family trees. “It makes the learning personal and meaningful, helping students connect new vocabulary to their own lives.”

Outside the classroom, Ms. Wang enjoys spending time in nature with family and friends, exploring local gardens, markets, and hiking trails. She also loves playing badminton, pickleball, and is currently learning tennis. She’s always on the lookout for new outdoor spots and discovering different sports to stay active!
