Ms. Miranda Rambin is an Early Learning Expert Teacher at BASIS Independent Bothell. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Family Services and a Master of Education in Social Justice, Equity, and Educational Policy from the University of Washington. While at the University of Washington, she was named to the Dean's List and inducted into the Mortar Board Honor Society, Tolo Chapter.
Ms. Rambin chose BASIS Independent because of the school’s “commitment to academic excellence, its rigorous and well-rounded curriculum, and the supportive, collaborative culture among faculty.” She values working in an environment that empowers students to grow in meaningful ways and blends intellectual rigor with the joy of learning.
“My teaching philosophy centers on nurturing the whole student – academically, socially, and emotionally,” she says. “I believe in creating a strong classroom community and environment, where students feel valued and excited to learn.”
One of her favorite class activities was an ocean conservation project. Students created posters to raise awareness about keeping oceans plastic-free and marine habitats healthy. They drew from poems, books, songs, and discussions while also practicing foundational academic and social skills. “Students individually contributed while experiencing the rewards of collaboration and relationship-building,” she says.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Rambin loves exploring the Pacific Northwest’s beaches and tide pools with her family and reading about marine biology and ocean science. She also volunteers with non-profits that advocate for individuals with autism and works to promote awareness and policy reform in support of neurodivergent learners. A few of her many passions include Shakespeare, ballet, and musicals.
