National Merit
Embodying Exceptional National Academic Skill
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition for U.S. high school students that provides recognition and college scholarships. It is administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a private, not-for-profit organization. Five BASIS Independent high schools are eligible to participate in the program. Students across our network are regularly named National Merit Semifinalists and Finalists, and we are proud to celebrate their achievements.
