BASIS Independent Bellevue is growing! In fall 2027, we will open a dedicated Lower School campus for students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 at 15760 NE 4th Street in Bellevue, directly across the street from our existing campus.

Beginning with the 2027–28 school year, our current campus will serve students in Grades 5–12. Together, the two campuses will create more space for our growing community and allow us to welcome more families to BASIS Independent Bellevue’s K–12 program.

A Private Elementary School for Curious Learners

At BASIS Independent Bellevue, we believe students are capable of more than they can imagine. Our Lower School program gives young learners opportunities to ask questions, explore ideas, and build the curiosity and confidence to grow into fearless thinkers.

With the guidance of subject matter expert teachers, students are encouraged to think deeply, take on challenges, and discover what they can accomplish. Our new campus will give them more room to learn, create, and grow alongside their classmates.

The Lower School builds on the relationships and traditions that have shaped our community since BASIS Independent Bellevue opened in 2022. It also gives current and incoming families an opportunity to help shape what comes next.

Meet Our Lower School Head of School

Ms. Rebecca Huang will lead BASIS Independent Bellevue Lower School as Head of School. Ms. Huang has worked with BASIS Curriculum Schools for eight years, beginning her career teaching Mandarin at BASIS Oro Valley.

She later moved to Washington and became a founding member of BASIS Independent Bellevue, serving as a Learning Expert Teacher in the primary grades. She went on to serve as Dean of Students, Director of Student Affairs, and most recently, Associate Head of School.

“As a school leader, my goal is to create an environment where both students and teachers can thrive. My job goes beyond preparing students to graduate from our school," says Ms. Huang. "It is about helping build a foundation for the people they will become—a foundation shaped by their learning and growth that contributes to their lifelong success.”

Spaces Designed for Learning and Exploration

The two-story Lower School campus will offer approximately 30,000 square feet of space on more than 1.5 acres. The building will include 16 classrooms, a dining hall, and an exercise room, as well as dedicated spaces for Music, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Engineering.

Outside, students will have access to a playground and a covered blacktop area for activities and play. Throughout the campus, these spaces will give students opportunities to explore, create, and take on new challenges.
