Middle School, High School
Mr. Norcross has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and a Professional Graduate Diploma is Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Edinburgh. Aside from his longstanding goal of guiding his students through successfully completing their Comp exams each year, his overall goal is to enhance mathematical understanding and application through the mathematical practices, develop student communication skills through detailed solutions to complex problems, and demonstrate connections from academic math to real life problems. He chose BASIS Independent Bellevue because the program is highly rigorous while striking a balance of traditional STEM focused academics with expressive arts education. He enjoys the tremendous flexibility and autonomy to create learning experiences that allow students to develop a deep understanding of subject content and applications. He enjoys working at the school because of the highly motivated students, talented faculty, and supportive administrators. In his spare time, he likes mountain biking, canoeing, climbing, and skiing.
