As one of the math Subject Expert Teachers at BASIS Independent Bellevue, Ms. Perez-Vargas teaches Pre-Algebra and Algebra I/Geometry. Her main goal as a BASIS Independent educator is to empower students so that they can feel confident in their own mathematical abilities. Ms. Perez-Vargas chose BASIS Independent because of the rigorous curriculum it implements and the high standards set for Subject Expert Teachers and students. In addition, she appreciates the freedom BASIS Independent Schools gives teachers to make the content their own and match it to the student’s needs. Most importantly, she appreciate that BASIS Independent views learning as a team effort. The administration, teachers, parents, and students are all on the same team with the same goal. After the school day, Ms. Perez-Vargas enjoys hiking and playing soccer. A fun fact about Ms. Perez-Vargas is that she absolutely loves dogs but has never actually had a pet dog herself.‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌
