Dr. Sharma received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Zoology from the University of Delhi in India and later went on to pursue a doctorate degree in Molecular Biology at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. She then moved to the United States to do postdoctoral research at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Shortly after, Dr. Sharma worked as a postdoctoral fellow and scientist at the University of California, San Francisco for nine years. Dr. Sharma is a Biology Subject Expert Teacher and a subject advisor. Dr. Sharma enjoys teaching Biology to middle school students. Her goal is to make the subject as enjoyable for her students. Biology is one of the most up-and-coming fields of study with modern technology supporting it.

Dr. Sharma believes students should look forward to learning their subjects, and material taught in class should meet and exceed curriculum goals. She chose teaching as a career because she truly enjoys it! She loves seeing her students learn and make strides.

Outside of class, Dr. Sharma enjoys painting, interior design, cooking, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with her family.
