What inspired you to work in schools, and what drew you to the BASIS Independent Dublin community?
I was inspired to work in schools after working at a math and language tutoring center. I loved getting to know the children and seeing them learn and progress in their educational goals. I’ve been working at BASIS Independent Fremont for the last year, and I’ve loved every minute. When I saw that BASIS Independent Dublin will be opening soon, I saw it as an opportunity to help create a community as wonderful as this one.
What does a typical day look like for you on campus?
A typical day at the front office starts with greeting students as they make their way into school. There are many things that need to be done as the day continues, such as signing in students that are late, talking to parents on the phone about absences or any questions they may have, and restocking supplies for the classrooms. I also enjoy decorating the school and creating games to engage with the students, so I spend the free time I have working on those.
What are you most excited about in your role at a new school?
I’m most excited about getting to know the families and students. Creating a welcoming atmosphere is very important to me, so I hope to create that at BASIS Independent Dublin.
