Last week, BIF's Model UN team made their debut at Last week, BIF's Model UN team made their debut at NHSMUN in New York City — the largest and most diverse high school Model UN conference in the world — and what a debut it was.

Our seven-student delegation represented Vietnam across four committees, working alongside more than 1,500 delegates from around the globe on topics including autonomous weapons, equity in space technology, and children's rights in international adoptions. Between sessions, they fit in some quintessential New York experiences — a slice of pizza, chess in Washington Square Park, the Empire State Building, the Met, and the Museum of Natural History.

Most impressively, they came home with awards — no small feat for a first-time delegation at a conference that distributes fewer awards than most:
🏆 Award of Excellence – UNICEF Committee: Niyam C. (10) & Selina L. (10)
🏆 Award of Excellence – Research & Preparation: BIF Delegation
🏆 Award of Merit – Overall Delegation: BIF Delegation

Congratulations to our entire delegation: Angela C. (11), Deshna M. (11), Juhi B. (10), Kshitij B. (11), Niyam C. (10), Rishabh P. (9), and Selina L. (10).

Incredible work, Yellow Jackets. See you next year, New York!

BIF DECA brought home some incredible results from BIF DECA brought home some incredible results from the DECA State Career Development Conference in Anaheim earlier this month — and we couldn't be prouder!

This year marks DECA's 75th anniversary and the largest California state conference ever, with 3,400 competitors. In BIF DECA's 4th year, our 39 competitors earned 13 top-12 overall placements, and 7 students will head to Atlanta, Georgia, next month to compete at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) — representing California on the world stage. Qualifying for ICDC is no small feat! Congratulations to all of our competitors and award winners!

And of course, no trip to Anaheim would be complete without a stop at Disneyland! Well deserved, Yellow Jackets. We'll be cheering you on in Atlanta!
