The BASIS Independent Schools International Student Program offers a dynamic and rigorous American educational experience for F-1 international students who wish to earn a high school diploma in the United States. The program offers students the internationally benchmarked and nationally ranked BASIS Curriculum and opportunity for cultural immersion in some of the most vibrant cities in the United States.

Introduction

International students bring to the classroom their own unique educational and cultural experiences and build life-long relationships with peers and teachers. Our challenging, enriching program delivers a high level of content mastery in an academic environment that fosters a love of learning and lifelong curiosity, laying the groundwork for the successful pursuit of higher education and a fulfilling life. We are also committed to providing an array of sports, clubs, and activities to choose from.

We welcome a diverse international population of students with varied backgrounds and areas of interest. The students in our International Student Program are academically high-performing individuals with a great appreciation for an amazing educational and cultural exchange opportunity.

Admissions Steps & Requirements

Attend an Informational Session
Optional

We encourage our international applicants to attend an Information Session to learn about our world-acclaimed program, meet faculty and staff, and more.

Attend a Guided Campus Tour
Optional

By attending a campus tour, families will have the opportunity to walk our halls and get a feel for our learning culture. Please email to arrange your private tour.

Submit Online Application
Required

Submit your Online Application ($200 Application fee)

Submit School Transcripts 
Required

After submitting your application, please submit your school transcripts of the last three years via email.

Submit TOEFL Score Report
Required

Please send the official TOEFL score report from ETS to BASIS Independent Fremont, ensuring institution code D562 is listed as your “Designated Score Recipient.”

Schedule an Interview  
Required

Upon receipt of the application and the required documents, the admissions team will reach out to you via email to schedule an interview and an assessment. The interview will take place via video call with admissions and will include a reading and writing assessment.

Take Math Assessment
Required

Upon receipt of the application and the required documents, admissions will contact you to schedule and complete a one-hour proctored web-based math assessment.

Admissions Decision

Notification Date: Within 10 business days of receiving your completed application.

​Commitment Date: Within three weeks of being offered a seat. Please note: Applying for Admissions is not immediately binding. To accept an offered seat, families must submit a signed Enrollment Agreement and a non-refundable deposit of $5,000 within three weeks of being offered a seat.
