Ms. Elliott chose BASIS Independent Schools because she values the academic excellence demonstrated by its students and the opportunity to contribute to a community that supports both student achievement and educator growth. Through her role, she hopes to continue developing her skills and gaining meaningful experience as she pursues her goal of becoming a classroom teacher.

Her teaching philosophy centers on creating a collaborative, inclusive, and empowering learning environment where students feel encouraged to share their ideas and explore new concepts. She believes learning is most meaningful when students can make connections across subjects and apply their knowledge to their own experiences. By fostering curiosity and discovery, Ms. Elliott helps students build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning.

One of her favorite classroom experiences was during summer school, where students studied a different artist each week and created artwork inspired by that artist’s style. At the end of the program, Ms. Elliott organized an art exhibit where students presented their work and shared what they learned about the artists, techniques, and creative process with other classes.

Outside of school, Ms. Elliott enjoys hiking with friends, baking, and spending time with her cats.
