Ms. Tamhane holds a Master of Science degree in General Engineering, and is currently pursuing a Data Science certificate from U.C. Berkeley Extension. Prior to coming to BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, she taught for eight years. Her goal in the classroom is to bring out the best in her students while developing their curiosity for computer science. It is very important to her to help instill a desire to learn in her students. One of the things she enjoys the most about being a teacher is meet budding computer scientists who are excited to learn from her. She hopes that they become fascinated with the subject, just as she has become. Ms. Tamhane thinks that students learn best when they are fully engaged, focused, and dedicated. She creates an environment that fosters this by teaching them about real-world applications of computer science and showing them the importance of learning it. In her free time, she loves to hike in the woods and relax at the beach.‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌
