French

Middle School, High School

Madame Pilot comes from Provence, France. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Landscape Architecture, and then received a Master’s Degree in French Literature from San Jose State University. Madame Pilot also completed a single subject credential in French at San Jose State University. For the last 20 years, she has taught French in the Bay Area at various private and public institutions. Madame Pilot is excited to be a part of the World Language Department so that she may share her enthusiasm and passion for French with students and faculty alike. She teaches French to students across the grades. Madame Pilot chose to join BASIS Independent Silicon Valley for its excellent reputation. She believes that the school does a superb job empowering students and giving them a voice so that they may develop their desire to learn. She sees herself as a facilitator and wishes to foster students’ growth and inspire them to become lifelong learners. She uses a hands-on approach in her classroom to promote collaboration and enhance communication. When not teaching, she is often creating and looking for ways to better reach her students. To further her education, she regularly attends Stanford World Language Program. When Madame Pilot is not working, teaching or studying, she enjoys sailing, gardening, reading and cooking. Once, while on a 5-day safari on the Zambezi River, she was charged by an elephant.‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‌
