As a Learning Expert Teacher at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley, Ms. Yoga’s goal is to guide students in identifying their strengths and learning styles, helping them become successful life-long learners and innovative problem-solvers. She chose BASIS Independent because of its strong curriculum, which fosters logical, versatile thinkers with good morals and ethics, preparing them to succeed in a diverse global society.
Ms. Yoga believes that knowledge and achievements come through consistent effort and perseverance. She fosters an enriching and respectful learning environment, encouraging students to take responsibility for their learning, time management, and moral values. She tailors her lessons to meet each student’s needs, believing that true learning occurs when lessons are applied to the real world. To her, each student is a unique flower, and together they create a beautiful garden in her classroom.
Ms. Yoga feels that students learn best when they understand that failures are stepping stones to success and when they feel empowered with the skills and knowledge needed to complete tasks. She often challenges students out of their comfort zones, encouraging them to spread their wings and discover new horizons. She uses various activities to engage students, including games like Bingo, Jeopardy, and flash card exercises.
One of her proudest teaching moments was guiding her first-grade students in writing short stories, with four of them eventually publishing their stories as books on Amazon.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Yoga enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga and meditation, often finding new teaching inspirations from her inner silence.
