Mr. Cotton is excited to start his fifth year teaching music classes at BASIS Independent McLean. Prior to joining the BIM faculty, he taught grades K-5 elementary general music, guitar, ukulele, piano, and music appreciation to students of all ages in North Texas. He believes music is the universal language and an essential part of a child’s well-rounded education. Mr. Cotton holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Music from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX, and a Master of Music in Classical Guitar Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Outside of teaching, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and discovering the DMV area with his family.
