Mrs. Setty’s first taste of teaching was as part of the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program, where she spent two years in rural Japan teaching English to elementary and middle school students. Upon returning to the U.S., Mrs. Setty taught in a grades 3 and 4 classroom in a private school in Annandale, VA. After the birth of her first daughter, Mrs. Setty made the switch to preschool. Mrs. Setty is a Founding Faculty member at BIM, having taught as a Lead Teacher in the Learly Learning Programs and as a Grade 1 Learning Expert Teacher before becoming Dean of Primary Program. She holds an M.A. in Primary Education from Christchurch College of Education (New Zealand) and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Setty is the proud parent of a BASIS Independent McLean graduate and a current 11th grader.
