With the rise of short form content, traditional newspapers are struggling to keep up with the changing market. With the creation of The Washington Post Shorts, the traditional newspaper has found a way to remain relevant in the minds of the younger audience via a shorter form of content. This paper surrounds the complementary environment of short form content (ie. TikTok, Instagram reels, YouTube Shorts) and traditional news media, with the divide being slowly bridged as we move through time. With this research, I can, as a journalism student, learn how to make content more appealing to modern audiences and to help other journalists revolutionize their content in the same way. My internship will be carried out at Innocuous AI as a media intern.
