Dr. Nash is the Subject Expert Teacher for Chemistry and Science at BASIS Independent Bothell. She holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Forensic Science from the University of New Haven, where she graduated with honors, and she earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island.  Ms. Nash was drawn to BASIS Independent Schools for their strong emphasis on advanced STEM education and the value placed on student success. She appreciates the autonomy the school offers both teachers and students, which allows her to design a curriculum where learners are encouraged to thrive.  “I strive to make chemistry a fun and accessible discipline where every student can not only grow, but thrive and have fun doing so,” she says. Her classroom fosters an environment in which learning is collaborative, and mistakes are treated as part of the learning process. Her goal is for students to develop excitement for scientific exploration and strengthen their critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
