Week 2: Preparing For My Trip To Vienna and Prague
March 27, 2026
This week I have been anticipating my upcoming trip to Vienna and Prague, which will play a vital role in research for my senior project. Since my question focuses on World War II resistance networks and intelligence efforts, especially in the former Czechoslovakia, having the opportunity to visit these cities is exciting for me, as they were both central to major historical events and decisions during the war.
One of the parts of this trip that I am looking forward to, is that my family and I will be taking a guided tour of Prague with a historian. This is a huge opportunity for my project because I’ll be able to hear expert insights firsthand rather than just reading from sources. I plan to record parts of the tour (with permission), so I can incorporate the historian’s perspective into my research. Being able to ask questions in real time, for example how Prague’s resistance changed over time, and being in the country that is one of the subjects of my research, will help me better understand how resistance networks operated, their impact during the war, and how those efforts are viewed in today’s history.
Finally, I began thinking about how I’ll document my trip. I plan to take notes, photos, and voice recordings throughout the trip, which I will use to inform later parts of my project and research.

Very exciting, cant wait to hear what you learn from your trip and to see how you can work this into your project.
This is such a unique opportunity, Dana, and I look forward to seeing how you incorporate your first-hand observations into your final project! I hope you found some interesting pieces of history in both cities, and I am excited to read your next post.
