Thank you, Mr. Festo, for sharing these incredible Thank you, Mr. Festo, for sharing these incredible photos from the Term Project trip to Germany and the Swiss Alps!

Our middle schoolers had quite an adventure, including wandering through centuries-old streets and taking in breathtaking, postcard-worthy views of the Swiss Alps. Along the way, they dove into history, sampled local favorites like pretzels, and got a firsthand look at the culture and traditions of two beautiful countries.

Trips like this remind us that some of the best learning happens outside the classroom through new experiences, new perspectives, and unforgettable memories with friends.

A huge thank you to Mr. Festo for organizing and leading this journey!

On June 16th, family, faculty, and students of BAS On June 16th, family, faculty, and students of BASIS Independent Brooklyn came together beneath the soaring glass ceilings of the Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for an unforgettable morning dedicated entirely to honoring the remarkable Class of 2026. Twenty-five extraordinary graduates stepped into the spotlight, ready to carry their talents and ambitions on to some of the top colleges and universities in the U.S. and abroad.

The ceremony was full of emotion and pride. Co-valedictorians Gregory G. and Nate C. stepped up to the podium and gave speeches full of laughter, nostalgia, and a bold vision for everything their classmates are about to become. Their words were a celebration of a shared journey and a rallying cry for all the adventures ahead.

We couldn't keep those speeches to ourselves. Read our latest blog (see link in bio) to experience the wit, warmth, and wisdom that made this graduation ceremony truly special.

From PreK through Grade 2, our students don’t ju From PreK through Grade 2, our students don’t just read about how living things grow and change; they witness it. Each year, our campus becomes a living science lab as we welcome a carefully chosen cast of creatures: caterpillars that spin themselves into chrysalises, tadpoles paddling in tanks, ladybug larvae inching along leaves, and eggs nestled in a warm incubator, waiting to hatch.

The goal isn’t just to teach biology. It’s to give children a visceral, unforgettable understanding of transformation, and allow them to see that living things change, grow, and become something new, right in front of their eyes.
