Hello, all!

On the third week of my senior project, things are going very well! I was able to make another major contribution. I helped rewrite part of the Exoplanet code, concentrating on using Pandas to sort through NASA’s Exoplanet Archive. This portion of the code is under active development and I am working with the other student researchers to continually improve this portion of the code.
This week I also spent a lot of time trying to understand the documentation of the Gaia database. Unfortunately, the documentation is very convoluted and not as clear-cut as the NASA database. Trying to understand the documentation is part of the next big step in the mini-Black Hole research project. In addition, we are also looking at ways that we can normalize (essentially combine) the NASA and Gaia datasets. I look forward to what comes of our efforts!
