Week 10: Last Post!

Hi guys! And welcome to my last senior project blog post! I definitely had a crazy week, as I’ve been perfecting my drafts and condensing my notes, but I’m glad that I’m bringing my internship/research work to a satisfying conclusion.

This week has mainly been about perfecting the work I’ve already done, reading a few new sources for my research, and organizing the structure of my entire presentation. I’m first going to be talking about theory, then transitioning into my analysis of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict. I’ll particularly be talking about barriers to peace talks and analyzing why the underlying issues b/t Russia and Ukraine should be emphasized in conflict resolution processes. I may include a few more details of my research, but since my research has been so broad, I’m definitely having difficulty deciding what’s relevant enough to be included in the presentation and what isn’t.

Since this is my very last post, I also wanted to share some of my reflections about the past few months. My experience hasn’t been easy, and at times my work felt overwhelming and monotonous. But I’ve had a rich introduction to the kind of work I could expect to perform in my future. I’ve learned how to consult niche sources on a niche research topic, I’ve learned about interpreting legal text, I’ve cultivated my Excel and Powerpoint skills. My interests and aspirations evolved, and I know now more than ever that I love doing meaningful, impactful work. I’ll definitely be remembering this experience for years to come.

I also wanted to send a big thank you to everybody who’s read or commented on my blogs, provided guidance and mentorship, and just helped me find meaning in my research. I appreciate everybody’s support very much.
