The School
A Proven Model Keeps Evolving through Shared Expertise.
The BASIS Curriculum was established in 1998 by two educational visionaries who sought to bring the academic depth and excellence of world-class international systems to the U.S. In 2014, BASIS Independent Schools brought that proven academic model to our first two campuses in Brooklyn, New York, and San Jose, California.
Since then, BASIS Independent Schools has grown into a globally lauded network of outstanding independent schools—13 campuses in 4 states—known for our thoughtfully designed curriculum, extraordinary teachers, and warm, unpretentious culture. As the network expands, the model keeps evolving and improving through shared expertise across our schools, while remaining true to our founding principles: teaching students to think critically, engage with advanced content, and become independent learners.
