Ms. Cherri
Ms. Cherri is an Early Education Teaching Fellow at our Lower School. She joins us from a charter school where she was focused on middle school science. Prior to that, she was an after-school STEM educator at ICAMP, and she enjoyed working with elementary and middle school students. Ms. Martinez graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada. While in college, she discovered her passion for education through coursework focused on pedagogy and work-study experience supporting students across a variety of age groups.
Ms. Cherri's goal as an educator is to create a welcoming, supportive classroom environment where students feel curious, confident, and excited to learn! She chose BASIS Independent Brooklyn because of our school's commitment to academic excellence and its focus on helping every student reach their full potential within a caring school community.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Cherri enjoys powerlifting, playing volleyball, and collecting Pokémon cards.
