Eight years ago, Mr. Piel returned to New York City and joined BASIS Independent Brooklyn’s faculty, first teaching Gr. 6 and 10 English and then Gr. 3 Humanities for six years at our school. He is thrilled to now help students grasp a subject that defines so much of who we are today.
