Ms. Nishat
Kindergarten Fellow
Ms. Nishat is an Early Education Teaching Fellow focused on our Kindergarten Hydrogen class at BASIS Independent Brooklyn’s Lower School. Beginning this school year, she will be teaching Civics, History, and Science to young learners. She graduated from Hunter College's School of Arts and Sciences, and she is proud to be a first-generation college graduate.
“My goal as a BASIS Independent Brooklyn educator is to nurture a love of learning through inquiry-based instruction, to help students develop a strong sense of self and community, and to lay the foundation for critical thinking, responsible citizenship, and scientific exploration.
Ms. Nishat chose BASIS Independent Brooklyn because of its strong commitment to academic excellence, curiosity-driven learning, and a supportive teaching community. It aligns with my passion for helping young students build a strong foundation for lifelong learning
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Nishat enjoys visiting museums, trying new cafés and desserts, and collecting fridge magnets and snow globes. She also has a passion for building LEGO sets and baking.
