We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!!! Our amazing PreK teacher Ms. Reilly captured many of our youngest Bear Cubs in PreK and Kindergarten sharing what they are thankful for this year. The result is a short reel of utter sweetness… and a few funny surprises.

You will hear many shouts out to family, friends, school, and even a chess trophy!

We are grateful for our wonderful community of students, parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, matrons, security, cleaning personnel, Butter Beans team members, and afterschool partners that make the magic possible.

Inspired by the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, students proudly showcased their creativity by designing their very own floats. From a friendly turkey to Spider-Man, Pikachu to our beloved Bear Cub, each float represented the students' exploration of the parade's history and engineering process.
Thank you to our Grade 2 students and teachers for reminding us what makes this season special. Your imagination, problem-solving, and collaborative spirit captured everything we love about this time of year.
Wishing our entire community a warm and joyful Thanksgiving.

Day of Service: Spotlight on Upper-Lower School Co Day of Service: Spotlight on Upper-Lower School Connections! Our high school students in BASIS Independent Brooklyn’s JASA Chapter traveled to our Lower School campus this morning to teach our Cubs about the importance of service right before Thanksgiving Break.

After reading the book “Just Help” together, our older students led a discussion of why service matters. Then they worked with our older Cubs in Gr. 1 and 2 to assemble nearly 70 toiletry kits to benefit seniors in one of JASA’s nursing homes. It was a wonderful way for our high school leaders to express how we serve others and make our communities stronger together.

Thank you to our @jasaseniors Club led by Kanika R. ‘26 who kicks off our reel today! Thank you as well to the families who contributed to the toiletry kit drive.
