AP Research
This project centers on gathering and analyzing the opinions of members of the four established ethnic enclaves in Greenpoint and Williamsburg. While other ethnicities and groups of people exist in the area, the Polish, Italian, Puerto Rican, and Jewish communities are the most defined and easily recognizable. However, in the past 30 so years, gentrification has become a complex socio-economic issue in the region, while little scholarly research has been done in the area specifically. As a result, my project aims to fill this gap by conducting interviews with members of each of the enclaves and recording their responses in a scholarly manner, to provide a scientific, organized historical record to be referenced in the future.
