Holiday Season has arrived at BIM! In Dr. Hartman’s chemistry classes, students learned the chemistry behind turkey timers and constructed Thanksgiving-themed molecules, such as tryptophan, out of common Thanksgiving ingredients like cranberries and marshmallows.

In Mr. Haines’s Historical Leadership class, Grade 8 and 12 students worked together in a historical re-enactment game set on the eve of the first Thanksgiving.

Day 1 of Spirit Week featured Santa’s Factory—Upper School students dressed as Santa, while Lower School students came as elves and reindeer!

Student Spotlight | Hera L-Y ’26 became interest Student Spotlight | Hera L-Y ’26 became interested in PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) after completing an internship in China. Using PFAS testing kits from Cyclopure, she has been analyzing water samples from multiple localities since last summer.

Among Falls Church, Loudoun County, Washington, D.C., Montgomery County (MD), and Alexandria, VA, she discovered a significant discrepancy between Alexandria’s results and those of the other regions...
