Week 5: Ongoing Issues

Hello all! Work for my internship and project has been slow this week but things have been going well. Recently, however, I have encountered some struggled with the design of some of the commonly used public websites, specifically SAM.gov and usaspending.gov. While some other sites I have mentioned, like fpds.gov, have more simple problems (i.e. archaic interface, lack of/incorrect data), the more robust websites have a much more deliberate problem for the average user. Apparently, there are private companies/programs that interface with these websites and run off of a subscription model, and they have seen to it that the websites are as inconvenient as possible to the layman. Thankfully I was able to receive assistance in these matters from my internship advisor, but it seems that these resources are unfortunately significantly less available to the average person than I had initially suspected.
