Week 3 ❣️
April 4, 2023
Hi guys!! Hard to believe it’s been three weeks already, but I’m excited for it. I also apologize for this post coming up so late)).
This week, I started working on a business model based on the 179D, and I specifically outlined how the tax law aligns with my company’s values (i.e. the energy efficiency and cost reduction components), which is going to be a big part of my final pitch. I also found a pitch template I liked, and started to fill it in with the basic information.
I’m also delving deep into the world of negotiation and mediation, experimenting with different methods of collecting my notes. I’m trying to annotate/summarize sections of Ury and Fisher’s book Getting To Yes, and integrate their claims into my final report/argument. For example, Ury and Fisher suggest that there is value in a) separating people and issues; b) focusing on interests, rather than positions; c) generating creative options; and d) using objective criteria in order to successfully reach a solution to a conflict.
Recently, I’ve run into a bit of a problem with finishing the weekly tasks I’ve set for myself, partially because I’ve lost some of my initial momentum, and partially because a new season of Shadow and Bone has recently graced my Netflix feed. While I have the material collected and read for reading/studying, it’s still definitely overwhelming because there is just so much of it. I’m trying to reset my schedule and pace myself, so hopefully I’ll have an easier time accomplishing all my goals.
That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading,
