Week 9: Research Paper Done!
May 4, 2026
Welcome back, you Stupendous scholars!
I hope you guys have been marvelous since we last saw each other in week 8. It’s crazy that our time together is almost over! As we approach the end of the senior project, I definitely feel bittersweet. Even though all the work I’ve put in is starting to pay off, it still feels weird thinking about how soon I will be presenting and finishing up my project. It’s kind of surreal because it felt like just yesterday I was starting to work on this project, but through it all, I’m so incredibly glad that I got to spend these past few weeks working on my project.
This week was solely focused on the completion of my research paper. It took a lot of time to create, but overall, I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. In addition to my introduction and literature review, I’ve also added a detailed methods section, a section displaying my results, a section analyzing said results, and a discussion section. In total, the paper itself ended up being around 12 pages, which is 2 more than I initially said I would create, but I think it’s well worth it :).
Now that my entire paper is finished, I can finally share with you guys some more details. For one, the assembly worked! The experimental group had a significant increase in their overall scores following the assembly, and I’m honestly really glad that that was the case. Honestly, realizing that the assembly itself was successful was one of the biggest motivation boosters I’ve had throughout the entire project, and I’m so excited for what this means in the future. At the very least, I hope this inspires BASIS schools to continue using mental health assemblies as ways of raising awareness amongst middle schoolers.
One negative thing that I did realize during this final review process, however, is that due to the small sample size, a lot of our calculations came back as not significant. This was honestly a huge blow because if we just had more time, I feel like we could’ve gotten more signups. However, at the end of the day, I’m grateful that we even got 22, and I’m so glad that I was able to run this project.
Next week will primarily focus on creating my presentation and poster board. To be completely honest, I’ve never made a research poster before, so I’m super excited to see what the process is like. From what I understand, it will involve a lot of Canva and a lot of figuring out where I can actually print the large paper, but I’ll keep you guys updated on how it goes. This week was pretty productive, so I hope next week is just as productive. See you on the flip side, you terrific translators.

Hi Shreyas!
It’s really great that your assembly ended up having a positive impact, especially after all the planning and setbacks along the way. Even if some of the results weren’t statistically significant, it still seems like your project showed that these kinds of conversations can help students. I’m excited to see how your poster and presentation turn out!
