Week 10: The End Game Is Sweeter Than Fiction And My Happiness Is Untouchable

The End Game Is Sweeter Than Fiction And My Happiness Is Untouchable
Okay, first off: I just want to point out that that was 4 references in one title (my personal best). There’s gotta be some sort of award for that.
I know, I know, I’m outdoing myself. But what can I say? With mere days to go before my final senior project presentation, my nerves and excitement are seemingly manifesting themselves in the form of anxiety-induced Taylor Swift references. You’ve been warned.
But before I start going on a million different tangents about how it seems so utterly crazy that I’m a legal adult now and how I will break down and cry in despair and exhaustion and defeat if I have to make yet another frappuccino at work and how I have never been more embarrassed in my life than when I so confidently called San Francisco Tower “San Carlos Tower” (much to the apparent amusement of the literal hundreds of airline pilots on the same frequency), I should probably start talking about my project.
To be honest, given the proximity of my final presentation, I don’t have many new updates for this week. I’ve mainly just been taking the valuable feedback I received from teachers and peers during my two mock presentations and incorporating that into my slides and delivery as best as possible. Of particular note, I’ve cut down on some of the text in my slides and added an extra slide about my current/future work. Here are a couple of those newly revised/created slides:
I also worked on changing the color palette of one of my graphics and ended up making it black and white to ensure that it would be visible from a distance while presenting. Here it is in all its glory:
Now, all that’s left to do is keep practicing my presentation to ensure that it fits within the 15-minute time limit (I may or may not have significantly exceeded this during both of my mock presentations). There’s only one way for you to find out whether I’ll be successful in this formidable endeavor: come watch me present live on Saturday at 8:45 am! I promise it’ll be worth it.
On a more serious note (not that I wasn’t being serious before), I honestly can’t believe it’s already almost time to conclude my project. This was a wild ride: there are simply no better words to describe this project. I can confidently say, however, that between the endless errors I ran into and late-night Stack Overflow searches, I saw myself being shaped as a person and a researcher throughout the course of this project. I saw my patience grow as I persevered in finding solutions to every issue I faced while never being scared to switch gears and try something new if my efforts weren’t succeeding.
I’ll save the rest of the sappy stuff for my next (and last) post, but I just thought I’d get a bit of it out now since I’ve had some time to reflect as I prepare for my final presentation. Speaking of which, I’m really hoping I’ll see you then :))
Until next time!
