Yes. BASIS Independent Silicon Valley offers a Shadow Program for applicants entering Grades 6–9. Registration opens on September 1, and Shadow Days are available on a first-come, first-served basis for applicants. Because space is limited, we encourage families to register early, as we cannot guarantee a Shadow Day for every interested applicant.
BASIS Independent Silicon Valley’s curriculum sets a high bar because we believe every student can rise higher than they expect. Students learn to reason through hard problems, ask sharp questions, and take on ambitious ideas without hesitation.
Every student can find a teacher during weekly office hours, join peer tutoring Monday through Friday, and lean on a school built by faculty, staff, and families who all want to see them succeed. From day one, students discover that being challenged and being supported go together, and that grit, curiosity, and follow-through matter just as much as the grade at the end.

To earn AP Scholar with Distinction, the College Board’s top AP honor, a student needs a 3 or higher on at least five AP exams and a 3.5 average across every AP exam taken in high school. Every single graduate in BASIS Independent Schools’ 2025 class hit that bar — a 100% rate network-wide. Learn more about our AP achievements at BASIS Independent Silicon Valley.
