Ms. Ransley
Kindergarten Lead
Ms. Ransley joined the BASIS Independent Manhattan community from across the pond, but has always had a connection to New York State. She received an undergraduate master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh with Honors, and completed a post-graduate certificate of education at the University of Cambridge. Following her studies, Ms. Ransley worked with students (ages 10-16) as a tutor in English Literature. She also spent a year working as an educator across five different schools, one of which was focused on special-education needs for students. For three summers, Ms. Ransley worked with children from ages 5-16 as a summer camp counselor, teaching outdoor activities such as swimming, tennis, and soccer. She and her family spent time at Lake George, and she is happy to be close to her family there.
Ms. Ransley spent two years as a Learning Expert Teacher, where she saw her students employ great determination and admirable citizenship. Next, she served as the Admissions Manager at the Upper and Lower School campuses for two years, which provided her with a valuable, holistic perspective on our school community. Ms. Ransley reconnected with her joy of teaching and returned to the classroom as an Early Learning Teacher. In the spirit of BASIS Independent Manhattan, she loves to encourage and inspire students to be the best versions of themselves.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Ransley loves reading books from all genres, cooking, baking, and going hiking. She is currently aiming to hike the 46 high peaks in upstate New York.
