Mr. Peterson graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in World History, American History, and American Government and has teaching endorsements in all three subjects. He spent three years teaching middle school American History in Iowa while also coaching multiple sports. At BASIS Independent Manhattan, Mr. Peterson is happy to follow his passion for teaching with the school’s diverse group of learners who truly care about their education. In the classroom, Mr. Peterson prioritizes and focuses on writing because it is essential for all students to be able to express their thoughts and findings in an organized and thoughtful manner. When he is not teaching, Mr. Peterson enjoys being outdoors and exploring the city.
