Mr. Rosenbalm
Music
Early Learning, Primary Program, Middle School
Mr. Rosenbalm graduated from Brigham Young University’s AdLab with a bachelor’s degree in communications, specializing in advertising copywriting. Before that, his lifelong passion for music and the arts began when he was gifted a piano at age six. He continued this journey by pursuing music studies at BYU, focusing on songwriting and commercial music. This foundation in both the arts and professional communication provides him with a unique perspective on music education.
Following his academic pursuits, Mr. Rosenbalm gained valuable experience as a copywriter at a New York City advertising agency. Although he found success working on ad campaigns for major brands, Mr. Rosenbalm was excited to return to music, where he’s found fulfillment in passing on his excitement and appreciation for music to the next generation. In addition to the study of music, Mr. Rosenbalm has a diverse background in the field with experience directing children’s singing groups and participating in church ensembles. He also develops his passion through songwriting and exploring music production. As an educator, Mr. Rosenbalm continually looks to enhance his appreciation for and deepen his understanding of music.
As a Music Subject Expert Teacher, Mr. Rosenbalm is committed to empowering creative expression, exploring music’s cultural impact, and inspiring a lifelong love of music for his students. He was drawn to BASIS Independent Manhattan’s emphasis on intellectual curiosity and creative exploration that fosters an ideal environment for students to thrive musically.
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Rosenbalm likes to pursue his creative interests, including screenwriting, songwriting, and reading. He also enjoys exploring New York City's diverse culinary scene, gaming with his wife, and over-confidently critiquing the latest media trends.
