Post 4: Week’s Agenda
April 6, 2023
Hey y’all, and welcome again to “Divinity through Tamil History”! I am back to tell you what my agenda has been for the week.
For this week’s agenda:
1). Read Tolkāppiyam and analyze sections that talk about Korravai, Malon, and Seyyon. Then, compare the attributes of these Gods in the texts to the attributes of Durga, Vishnu, and Karthikeya respectively in the Devi Mahatmya and Devi Bhagavata Puran, the Bhagavata Puran, and Skanda Purana.
2). Search and find existing Pre-Sangam art on Korravai, Malon, and Seyyon. Then compare their visual iconography the attributes of Durga, Vishnu, and Karthikeya respectively in the Rajasthani miniatures, Pahari paintings, etc.
3). Start the creation of slides for Tamil community groups. This will jot down the findings I have found in slide format.
4). Start the creation of slides for children in Lower School. This will simplify my finding to make them appealing to students.
5). Look at schools in our area that teach Lower School English and come in contact with English and History Faculty.
6). Continue writing my research paper.
As of now, I am in the middle of comparing the Tolkāppiyam and Sangam art of Korravai, Malon, and Seyyon to the depictions of Durga, Vishnu, and Karthikeya to the Puranas and miniature art.
Thank you so much for reading “Divinity through Tamil History” again. And see you next time where I go and talk about my finding to all of you guys.
