Week 10: Getting Feedback
May 12, 2023
Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! Since I am done with the majority of my project, this week I thought I would move on to get some feedback from tech employees on my ideas. I’ve also been working on my final presentation, and I will share the slides after I present next week.
Last week, I created a list of ideas that companies could implement in order to better support the mental health of their employees.
Here is the list of what companies should do:
- Address The Stigma Around Mental Health Issues And Raise Awareness About Them
- Normalize Policies For Requesting Time Off For Mental Health, Despite The Amount Of Workload Present, Just Like Sick Leave Or Vacation Days
- Spread Awareness About Their Provided Mental Health Programs And Emphasize Their Anonymity, So That Employees Feel Comfortable Taking Advantage Of These Resources
- Hire A Company Mental Health Counselor (Maybe More Than One If Needed) And Encourage Employees To Talk About Their Mental Health With The Counselors
As I mentioned, this is the bare minimum of what companies could do, but I wanted to get some feedback from employees on how they feel about these suggestions. So I created a follow-up survey for employees to complete.
Here is the survey:
Here is the link to the survey, and please share it with any tech employees you know: https://forms.gle/ZPu2c9MqQxNtxDwQA
Next week, I will look at responses to the survey. Additionally, I will talk about one more external solution for companies to support the mental health of their employees.
Thank you for reading, see you next week!
