Exploring Data Depths
April 23, 2024
Welcome back to week 8 of my senior project journey! This week has been all about delving deeper into the data I’ve collected so far. As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been exploring various methods to analyze this information.
One specific approach I’ve been exploring is qualitative data analysis. This involves examining the narratives and feedback provided by the veterans during our interactions. I aim to identify recurring themes, patterns, and insights within their experiences with the mobile apps. This qualitative approach allows me to capture the complexities of their perspectives, shedding light on the real-world impact of these interventions.
Additionally, I’ve been delving into quantitative data analysis techniques to complement my qualitative findings. By quantifying aspects such as app usage metrics, engagement levels, and outcome measures, I can provide a more comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness and efficacy of the mobile apps in supporting addiction recovery and mental wellness.
I’m also exploring the integration of data visualization techniques to present my findings in a clear way. Visualizing the data through graphs, charts, and diagrams not only enhances comprehension but also facilitates communication of key insights to stakeholders and collaborators. I’m looking at options from bar charts showcasing app usage over time to scatter plots illustrating correlations between engagement levels and self-reported outcomes.
Each analytical approach offers their own unique strengths and limitations, and I want to triangulate findings across multiple methods to ensure validity and a comprehensive understanding of the impact of mobile apps on addiction recovery and mental wellness.
