Week 10: Sharpening Teeth
May 6, 2024
Hey, there! I’m glad to see that you’ve returned to my Senior Project blog! Unfortunately, there’s not too much to report for blog readers like you, but I did make some good progress on my final products! By the end of my 12 weeks, I am hoping to present my findings, of course, but also to create a promotional video for sharks as I stated in prior weeks.
Related to the video, I have fully written, edited, and recorded my script. However, it does seem quite long and will likely translate into an even longer video, so I will see what I cut if necessary. My video is aiming to strike a balance between entertaining and informative, without falling into the same pitfalls I’ve noticed and researched over the course of my senior project. I will attempt to cover statistics related to sharks, the chance of dying to them, common portrayals of them in the media, comparisons of these portrayals, and their importance, hopefully all in a brief video.
For my presentation, I have finished creating the slides and only need to practice for the final showcase. My presentation will contain a bit of what I covered in my proposal defense and, obviously, the research and findings I’ve made over these last months. I am aiming for sections that will go through my background, sharks’ circumstances, international and cross media comparisons, data processing, analysis, and conclusion.
That’s about it for this week’s blog! Next week, I’ll be working on developing my video and practicing my presentation. I hope you enjoyed these weekly updates as they near an end and are as excited as I am for the final results.
