Week 12: Concluding Notes on Final Presentation
May 20, 2024
I was able to debug the sum and multiply algorithms in BSI in time for my presentation, run some testcases, and even generate a point cloud of my rabbit. Here’s a link to the video of my presentation where you’ll be able to see my results:
It was a long journey, but it’s nowhere near over. Like I mentioned in my conclusion, I would like to finish my implementation so that the entire compute depthmaps operation relies on BSI so that I don’t have to do a conversion in the middle. My results have shown that BSI runs 50-100 times faster than the linear solution, which spells a huge improvement to the OpenSfM algorithm overall.
I want to end off on the note that photogrammetry has a huge variety of applications, and there are still many areas within it that can be explored, so I would encourage anyone who has been reading my blogs to consider diving into the field. I couldn’t have picked a better project to end off my senior year with.
This ends the last blog of my senior project. Thank you for everyone who has been following my blogs! I wish you the best of luck if you are also pursuing your own senior project.
