Week 7: Shaking Beef Analysis
Welcome back to my blog! This week I made one of my favorite dishes, shaking beef. It’s really easy to make and traditionally has a more savory taste. However, for my recipe, the shaking beef is sweet and savory as I added hoisin to the marinade. A fun fact about shaking beef is that it gets its name from stirring and shaking it to get it nicely cooked. Shaking beef is typically paired with white rice, which I will have included in the nutrition labels. There are multiple healthy alternatives such as brown rice and purple grain rice (black rice). Purple/black rice is the healthiest rice as it contains high amounts of protein, Vitamin E, calcium, and potassium.
As you can see from the images above, the calories for black rice are higher than the rest because it has more energy, which is helpful for us to burn more calories. You may also notice that brown rice has a smaller caloric number because of the different compositions in equal weight for servings.
Thank you for reading my blog! Next week will be my final dish of the project!
