Week 5: Laryngoscope Done!
April 7, 2023
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog!
Progress:
This week, I finalized the design of the adult Lindholm laryngoscope after working with my advisor. Only two main changes were made:
- Shrinking The Total Length Of The Lumen And Lip To 120mm
- Decreasing The Angle At Which The Lip Rose
After these changes, the final model was printed at full size, which took 15 hours.

Future Models:
After completing the model of the laryngoscope, I will be working on modeling an adult larynx, potentially with a disease such as a polyp, to create a better pediatric simulation for the laryngoscope. I have the general shape of the larynx and vocal folds modeled. I will continue consulting diagrams to refine the model and add all the necessary components. Until next time!
Sincerely,
Derrick Liu
