Week 10: We’re Almost Done!!!
May 12, 2023
“The hardest game to win is a won game.” -Emanuel Lasker
Hello everyone, we’re almost at the end of this project! This post will be much shorter than usual because I’ve technically already finished the AR training system. Well, at least for now of course. There are a few more complex features that I would like to implement, but that’s probably going to be more of a summer project. Anyways, let’s dive into today’s blog!
- Presentation Work
- Github Project
- Plans For Next Week
Presentation Work
The presentation is coming up, so I had to start preparing for that. Luckily, my initial proposal defense slides had a lot of background information already, so I didn’t need to spend a lot of time working on that part. I was also able to take the video I recorded through the headset and embed it in the slides. If you want to check it out, feel free to take a look at my Week 9 post. Anyways, I don’t want to reveal too much right now though. You’ll have to come to my actual presentation on the 20th if you want to see the full presentation. Trust me, you should come. I might even bring the headset for lucky audience members to try out!!!
Quick Side Note
On a more personal note, I had my wisdom teeth extraction this week, yay!!! (Lol I just wanted to share this for some reasons). To be honest, the procedure wasn’t even that bad (I was literally awake the whole time). After just two days, the pain completely stopped, and I went back to eating whatever I want. So, if you’re worried about your wisdom teeth extraction, don’t be! It’ll be all right.
Now I’m very proud of the fact that I was able to do my mock senior project presentation just one day after the extraction. It went pretty well, the teachers liked it, so I think I should be all good to go. I made a few minor changes to the slides based on their feedback (again, you’ll have to come to my actual presentation to see it), but other than that, this week was mostly just me practicing.
Github Project
I believe I kept the Github repository for my project private for quite a while. However, it’s public now, yay! Here is the QR code to the project:
As a quick note, this Github repository is only for the HoloLens version of the chess training system. I will upload the Oculus version onto a new repository. Also, in case you do have a headset and downloading the entire project is just too much of a hassle, a build of the project will be available soon as well.
Plans For Next Week
Again, now that I’m basically done with this project, I’ll mostly be working on the presentation aspect. I have another mock presentation coming up, so I need to practice for that. Also, the Github project still has a bit more updating to do. Other than that though, I should be all set for next week.
Thanks for reading my blog! Please be sure to come to my final presentation!!!
