- Project Title: Re-Gardening BISV
- BASIS Independent Advisor: Dr. Patrick Huet
- Internship Location: Yale University
- Onsite Mentor: Kev Yang
Current gardens at BISV lack proper maintenance and regulations, where many of the plants are found dead with large area of soil exposure. There is also a lack of incentive for students in the school to care for the environment. With the development of current day technologies, the depletion of Earth’s resources has caused numerous problems such as climate change. This is a severe issue that should gain more people’s awareness, especially for the future generations. The main focus of the project is to rebuild the garden with bioretention plants that has low watering requirements. Name cards will also be created to introduce the plants to students for education purpose. This project will be conducted on the BISV campus to also educate and inspire future generations on environmentally-friendly actions. Through this project, I hope to integrate a “green” culture in BISV, where people start to taking care of the environment and help with efforts in stoping global warming.
