Week 9: Wrapping Things Up
May 10, 2023
(Linking Timothy’s Blog here for his audio uploads)
Welcome back to my blog! Sorry for the late post, but here is my blog for the week. Let’s go!
Finalizing Everything!
Now that we have added all of the lyrics and added all of the notes that associate with these lyrics, we have to comb over everything to make sure that everything is ready to be printed and presented.
There were a couple things that I had to take care of in order for the song to finally be done. Firstly, I made sure there weren’t any flaws in the way I was adding the symbols or writing the notes.
One of the primary problems was the arpeggio symbol being too close to the chords, which made it a bit awkward to read when taking a glance at the notes.
Another issue I encountered was dealing with the problems of volume control, and how to incorporate certain volume levels to specific instruments at specific parts of the song. This was relatively easy to fix for me (even if it required some Google-ing) and slowly added the volume controls into the pieces of music that were being played.
As shown above, the symbol “f”, which means “forte” or playing loudly, makes the sounds more dynamic and makes the lyrics stand out more as opposed to the other instruments. I added this to the rest of the song, just to make everything sound nicer and more fluid as well.
Onto The Recording!!
Now that we have finished all of the project material (such as the notation for all of the songs), we have to move onto recording.
We started recording the instruments and some of the vocals as well, so let me show you some of them here!
Also, shoutout to Meha Gaba (the singer here) and thanks so much for helping me out with my project. This post is dedicated to her and I hope you enjoy her singing here!
Not everything part of these songs is present here, so you will just have to see the final recording in order to hear the rest. However, for Die for You, we are still recording some of the audio portions, so you will just have to hear it when it comes out :).
That’s all for today’s blog, there are more things to come in the future as well finish recording and stitch everything together. Next week is going to be a big blog, so be prepared to listen to our final product! See you then.
